What Is She Rises?

In 2000, Holly Wagner started hosting a small gathering of women called GodChicks. It evolved into She Rises in 2014, with thousands of women gathering from all over the world at the iconic Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Our gatherings have changed over the years, but our heart has remained the same: to creatively reach and inspire a generation of women to know who they are, and to use their God-given gifts to change the world. We’re always finding new ways to make this happen so that everything we do feels fresh, relevant, and fun. At our gatherings, we use music, film, and teaching to communicate our message in the context of our modern world.

We talk openly and honestly about the many challenges we face as women living in the 21st Century, and how we can use our faith to guide us throughout our lives. Because that’s how we rise and discover our purpose. We talk about everything– from relationships to social justice to motherhood to overcoming adversity– with a primary emphasis on how we can use our faith to navigate our beautiful, chaotic lives and come together to make the world a better place.
